It is hard to believe that it’s already the last week of summer. I won’t be storing away my tanks and flowy dresses quite yet since it’s still in the 80s in LA, but soon enough!

Post-Labor Day White
Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day??? It’s an extremely outdated rule… and if you live in LA and it’s still sunny and 75+ degrees through fall, it is totally acceptable!
Two-Way Tuesday: Rocker Street vs. Simple Sweet!
Welcome to Two-Way Tuesday! Today I have a Zara tank and a Joe Fresh for JCP denim skirt – styled two different ways – one for the girl who uses swear words, the other for the girl who just thinks them! Tell me what you think (using a swear word or not!).
Culture with the kiddo!
Meet my nephew! He and my sister were in town for a visit, so we went to the Getty for a children’s concert in the garden to see his favorite musician, Elizabeth Mitchell. I kept it simple in an Erotokritos shift dress with a fun padded neckline and grey buttons and he sported a preppy Janie and Jack ensemble and oversized shades. What a cool kid!
Happy Birthday!
September is the month for birthdays with my family and friends – aunts, cousins, friends, my brother-in-law, you name it! So in celebration of these birthdays (and since I’m off to a birthday party), it seemed appropriate to wear this fun candy-printed dress since its appropriately festive and confetti-like! It was a birthday gift from my sister ages ago, and was the very first silk dress I ever owned. Pretty special, right?
Now let’s party!
Little girl, big clip
Back in Calfornia! These shorts were a Zara find in San Sebastián on sale for only €12! (about $16 US). I liked the mix of the casual drawstring waist with the super feminine print.
Now let’s talk shorts…
A lot of people tend to go for shorts that hit at least a few inches above the knee (thinking that shorter is better so that “stumpiness” is avoided). But longer shorts can be just as flattering if paired with neutral heels that instantly elongate legs (same goes for pointed pumps!). Though black shoes would have been an easy color match with my outfit, shoes in darker colors tend to draw more attention and can have a slightly shortening effect if they don’t have pointy toes, so beware with longer hemlines!
San Sebastián – Day 2
Today I really got a chance to explore San Sebastián. Outfit of choice? My 10 Crosby by Derek Lam maxi dress (the stripes just scream Spain!) and flat sandals for lots of walking!
San Sebastián – Day 1
Grabbed a quick breakfast at Mercat de la Boqueria and did the scenic 5.5 hour drive across the country to San Sebastián. We didn’t arrive until later in the evening, so we didn’t have much time before dark to take photos!
¡Hola Olite!
About half an hour from Pamplona is a medieval town called Olite. The massive Castle of Olite was built during the 13th and 14th centuries and made for an interesting visit and a great playground for photo-taking.
Welcome to Barcelona
Want to know something that I’m quite proud of? I managed to pack all of my belongings for my spanish extrevaganza into a single carry-on bag. That’s a record for me!!! (The key was only 3 pairs of flat sandals)
Anyway, after flying through the night and having to start my day by rolling off of a plane, I was only willing to wear extremely comfortable clothes. Jersey harem pants, a basic tank, and flat shoes were by immediate go-to for a busy day seeing Barcelona on foot (not 100% true… we did end up taking one taxi ride).
