Welcome to Two-Way Tuesday! Today I have a Zara tank and a Joe Fresh for JCP denim skirt – styled two different ways – one for the girl who uses swear words, the other for the girl who just thinks them! Tell me what you think (using a swear word or not!).

Culture with the kiddo!
Meet my nephew! He and my sister were in town for a visit, so we went to the Getty for a children’s concert in the garden to see his favorite musician, Elizabeth Mitchell. I kept it simple in an Erotokritos shift dress with a fun padded neckline and grey buttons and he sported a preppy Janie and Jack ensemble and oversized shades. What a cool kid!
Little girl, big clip
Back in Calfornia! These shorts were a Zara find in San Sebastián on sale for only €12! (about $16 US). I liked the mix of the casual drawstring waist with the super feminine print.
Now let’s talk shorts…
A lot of people tend to go for shorts that hit at least a few inches above the knee (thinking that shorter is better so that “stumpiness” is avoided). But longer shorts can be just as flattering if paired with neutral heels that instantly elongate legs (same goes for pointed pumps!). Though black shoes would have been an easy color match with my outfit, shoes in darker colors tend to draw more attention and can have a slightly shortening effect if they don’t have pointy toes, so beware with longer hemlines!
The Cactus and the Palm
There is no place where cacti and palm trees coexist… other than in the magical splendor of Beverly Hills.
“I Do…” like weddings
Richard Gere isn’t here today (for all you movie buffs), but I’m on my way to a wedding rehearsal dinner. Excellent company, amazing weather, and beautiful city = good day. Oh. But no kissing on the lips.
Lettin’ loose – pockets ‘n’ boots
There is nothing I love more than a loose tank and shorts during the summer when I’m out and about. Although, I think that these shorts, a unique creation by Mai Morimoto of Lungta de Fancy, are pretty far from ordinary summer shorts… they have amazing external pockets and elastic bloomer-like detailing.
(They are definitely one of those “’til death do us part” purchases!)
118 degrees
When it is 118 degrees, it is VERY difficult to be motivated to go outside and take photos. Needless to say, Adam and I ventured out to the Red Rock Canyon area and made our best effort to do a mini photoshoot without passing out.
Brunch with the girls!
This Asos skirt is one of my favorites – the weave and slight sheen of the material gives it an expensive look. Since it’s summer, I’m showing a hint of skin with a fitted crop top to offset the high waist and flared skirt.
Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July from Hotel Wilshire! The firework sightings weren’t great, but the company more than made up for it. Generally I consider BCBG prices to be “credit”-worthy, but this romper was purchased at a sample sale and I figured the Forever 21 blazer and Ross clutch balanced it out. I can already tell that my rating system is going to get tricky sometimes…
