There is no place where cacti and palm trees coexist… other than in the magical splendor of Beverly Hills.

Neighborhood watch
While we were taking these photos, a guy pulled over and asked us if they were to advertise the new Fiat. No clue where that came from, because 1) I wasn’t standing next to my car and 2) the Fiat was covered in dirt and completely unacceptable looking.
“I Do…” like weddings
Richard Gere isn’t here today (for all you movie buffs), but I’m on my way to a wedding rehearsal dinner. Excellent company, amazing weather, and beautiful city = good day. Oh. But no kissing on the lips.
Lettin’ loose – pockets ‘n’ boots
There is nothing I love more than a loose tank and shorts during the summer when I’m out and about. Although, I think that these shorts, a unique creation by Mai Morimoto of Lungta de Fancy, are pretty far from ordinary summer shorts… they have amazing external pockets and elastic bloomer-like detailing.
(They are definitely one of those “’til death do us part” purchases!)
West of Fairfax
Unless you’re looking to buy scarves, leggings, hookahs, or sequined camis, there’s no reason to shop on Melrose east of Fairfax…
Killing time in leather
I was downtown this past weekend (I’m a big fan of Philippe’s!) and took a stroll over to Union Station. I remembered it has some great architecture and I just had to get some shots there!
118 degrees
When it is 118 degrees, it is VERY difficult to be motivated to go outside and take photos. Needless to say, Adam and I ventured out to the Red Rock Canyon area and made our best effort to do a mini photoshoot without passing out.
Off to the airport!
There are a few things that I keep in mind when I dress for air travel. To me they seem completely normal, when I tell other people, they think I’m nuts for thinking these things…
- Jersey knits are your best friend since they don’t wrinkle!
- Low heels or flats since you’ll be doing a lot of walking (obviously). And since I’m a bit wary of other people’s germs/plagues/cooties, I always wear shoes with socks for going through security (nothing like walking barefoot where everyone else has…)
- Hair pulled back, or a hat to cover it up since it tends to get static-y
- And of course, you’ll probably want a jacket in case the guy next to you likes the AC on full blast.
Watching people get hitched…
Afternoon wedding. Just heard Whitney Houston… I give it five months (kidding – it’s going to be lovely).
Brunch with the girls!
This Asos skirt is one of my favorites – the weave and slight sheen of the material gives it an expensive look. Since it’s summer, I’m showing a hint of skin with a fitted crop top to offset the high waist and flared skirt.
