Unless you’re looking to buy scarves, leggings, hookahs, or sequined camis, there’s no reason to shop on Melrose east of Fairfax…

Trust me – I do consignment stores, outlets, shady off-price/discount shops, and eBay – so I’m not a super-snob shopper or anything. But there’s something about shopping off racks and tarps on the sidewalk outside of graffiti-covered storefronts that just doesn’t agree with me. With the exception of a quick Urban Outfitters run (a whopping 5 blocks east of Fairfax), it’s pretty safe to say that you’ll find me on the west side.
