Today’s look is a mix of bargains and some debit-worthy accessories. My mom found this top for me at Marshalls and though it’s not maternity, it has the perfect silhouette to work throughout pregnancy and beyond. I also love the shell buttons, pleating, and embroidery. To add a little whimsical element, I wore my oversized teddy bear necklace (yes, it is made of needlepoint plastic canvas, and yes, something like that can only be found at a Japanese boutique!) and my holographic purse for some shine.

My Lashfully Experience
Ever think about getting lash extensions? Well, it just so happens that today marks the end of my second week with my lash extensions from Lashfully in Beverly Hills. I figured it made more sense to take them for a test drive before writing about them since, well, application and initial results are just the beginning. You probably want to know how long they last, how they feel, how much I like them, etc. So here we go…
FWLA: LA Fashion Council
To kick off Fashion Week LA, I went to support and check out LA’s local design talent at the first day of LA Fashion Council‘s shows at Maker City (in The Reef downtown). I saw L’Enfant Terrible, Sania Josiah, and William Bradley, but unfortunately had to leave before Stella Proseyn, Sauri, and Odylyne went on. Needless to say, I saw some great looks.
Leopard and Polished Leather
This silk dress is one of my favorite easy go-tos for work – with or without a bump (I just tie the sash in a different place!). To offset the bold pattern, I opt for sleek polished leather accents around my neck, on my feet, and in my hand.
Stolen Sweater
Typical maternity outfit? Not so much. But hellooo autumn!!! I’ve been waiting a while for the LA heat wave to subside and it seems like it finally has a tad which allows me to reintroduce boots and sweaters into the mix!
Nomadic Prints
I’d like to preface this post by letting you know that everything I am wearing is quite old and no longer for sale (I hate nothing more than having my heart set on something only to find out that it’s sold out everywhere). This dress is an oldie-but-goodie from H&M and has an artsy-cool print with patches of embroidery and a scoop back with adjustable straps. Perfect piece to just throw on and go.
A pregnant girl’s best friend
This is my latest dinner date outfit. (Trust me, it’s not easy finding outfits that make you feel attractive when you’re 7 months pregnant!) One thing I know for certain… aside from drawstring sweatpants, jersey pencil skirts are a pregnant girl’s best friend. Sure they are generally viewed as being quite casual, but add some patent stilettos and they’re good enough for a night out.
“Splurging” on Affordable Fashion
Is it crazy to say that I splurged on a sweatshirt at H&M? It’s definitely odd coming from me and is unlike my usual “this was a steal at H&M!” but this sweatshirt stared me down in all its beaded glory and I knew I had to have it. I love the colors, the pattern, and the chainmail-like weight of it (yes, it’s super heavy). So, what’s your price limit on an utterly-covet-worthy-but-deep-down-still-just-a-pullover-cotton-sweatshirt?
Burgundy bump in BH
Nothing makes me happier than finding a perfectly-tailored [non-maternity] silk blouse that accommodates a bump perfectly. I got this on sale at a department score closing, but luckily you still can too since it’s marked down on Amazon!
Slouchy Summer
Slouchy tees are a staple of summer. And since I tend to get cold indoors with the AC on full-blast, I like to keep good lightweight slouchy cardigan with me to throw on top! This one was a bargain and although it’s a ‘cash’ item, it’ll be in my closet for years to come!
