“Splurging” on Affordable Fashion

homepage

Is it crazy to say that I splurged on a sweatshirt at H&M? It’s definitely odd coming from me and is unlike my usual “this was a steal at H&M!” but this sweatshirt stared me down in all its beaded glory and I knew I had to have it. I love the colors, the pattern, and the chainmail-like weight of it (yes, it’s super heavy). So, what’s your price limit on an utterly-covet-worthy-but-deep-down-still-just-a-pullover-cotton-sweatshirt?

It retails for $70, but I used a 30% off code to get it for $49. Not cheap, but if it were made by any designer brand, it would have easily been $350 (check out these by Phillip Lim and Stella McCartney). If it’s any consolation, I got this tote on sale, the shoes were a super-bargain during Zara’s summer clearance ($30!), and Forever 21 is, well, Forever 21 pricing… so, I guess this all averages out to be a debit-worthy outfit.
