I’m styling a runway show in a couple weeks and this green visor is one of my favorite things in my arsenal of accessories (think lots of colorful acrylic and PVC!). Keep tabs on my Instagram for some sneak peaks… and for the video that goes with this outfit post too!

The WTF Dress
Sporty Friday
Happy Friday! Quick post today since I am battling tendonitis in both wrists!!! ( = minimal texting, typing, lifting, etc… it’s quite a drag). I felt like playfully dressing up this mesh-back hoodie and revealing a strappy neon sports bra beneath it. Some fun textures and color to kick off the weekend!
eBaying The Bay
A few days ago I posted about consignment shopping. Today I’m featuring the thrifty shopper’s other best friend… eBay. Ever since I spotted my first Hudson’s Bay coat, I knew I was destined to own something with the iconic Canadian stripes. Only problem was that the styles that I loved so much were made in the 60s and 70s… and that’s where eBay is so amazing.
Navy and Black
Growing up, I wasn’t so keen on mixing navy and black. Then Zac Posen’s collection for Target dropped in 2010 and changed my mind with its ruffled strapless dress and tuxedo jacket (both of which I still have in my wardrobe today). Now I love the dark color combo. Kelly Wearstler seemed to have also gotten the memo, and made this tie-front vest with an amazing textured navy weave with subtle black trim. And to finish off the look, I chose this classic monogrammed purse (in the most pristine vintage condition!) that was handed down to me by my mother-in-law. Pretty amazing.
Consignment Done Right
Some outfits with extreme high-low combos can only be averaged and categorized as ‘debit’. Well, today’s outfit couldn’t get much higher and lower… I mixed and matched a Preen by Thornton Bregazzi jacket (if you’re not familiar, let’s just say that the 100% cotton hoodie from Preen’s current collection is retailing for a cool $815) with my favorite pair of Payless boots. Yup.
Sporty Minimalism
Casual Friday
Today’s outfit is all about balancing proportions. This super-slim top is offset by the loose shorts, and the long hemline of the shorts (which can make legs look dangerously short) is offset by the lengthening heels. Throw on a cream blazer and it’s perfect for a casual Friday at work.
Sunny Yellow
I loved this sweatshirt from the moment I set my eyes on it and its raffia-covered front. I’m always a sucker for interesting textures, so palm fronds dyed black and white were too new and fascinating for me to pass up.
A Pop of Pattern
One of the things that I love about capes is that they provide some warmth, but show off just enough arm (crucial when you’re wearing a bold pattern and have colorful trim that you don’t want to hide beneath sleeves!). Today I let the geometric print take the lead amongst subtle black textures and little pops of colorful accents.
