While I get that it’s rare for a heavily-worn bargain buy to last more than one season (because, let’s face it, most of the time affordable fashion = disposable), I stand by the fact that timeless clothes and investment pieces can last surprisingly long if properly cared for.
My grandmother gave me this J.Crew sweater for my birthday 10 years ago and it’s still going strong. The key? Folding, not hanging, it (since knits lose their shape so easily) and storing it in plastic bags or bins during the warm months to prevent moths from snacking on it. So far, so good… I’m hoping this one’s still got another decade in it!
