I had actually been brainstorming for my 4th of July post (it marks Catching Couture’s three year anniversary!) when Farfetch reached out to me about their latest competition asking bloggers to creatively style stars and stripes. I’m always up for a good challenge, so here we go…
When I hear “Independence Day fashion”, I generally think of the overly-popular outdoor BBQ attire – denim cutoffs (perhaps strategically dyed to have a star pattern) and striped tanks or fringed cutoff shirts. But I really like Farfetch for its unique assortment of luxury brands and indie designers from boutiques around the globe, so I wanted to do something different by classing it up a notch and style my outfit to for a sophisticated 4th of July soirée (sorry, no red, white, and blue nail art here!). Even better, it easily transitions from day to night with the simple addition of a classic tweed jacket. Now let’s go out and celebrate!
What I’m wearing:
Band of Outsiders bodysuit
L’Agence shorts
Forever 21 jacket
Maison Boinet belt
No.21 shoes
Gorjana necklace
Jules Smith bracelet
Shop my Farfetch picks for a similar look:
(1) Band of Outsiders blazer; (2) Jimmy Choo clutch; (3) AF House necklace; (4) Fleur Du Mal bodysuit; (5) Faith Connexion belt; (6) Gianvito Rossi pumps; & (7) 3.1 Phillip Lim shorts
Great shorts. Great shoes great post
What season are those shoes? I can’t find them anywhere online! :(
Hi Katherine,
Unfortunately they are already several seasons old. The only place I’ve come across them online is this site:

I’d also try eBay, Poshmark, Tradesy, etc. Good luck! I hope you find them!
