It has been very hard to keep this from you (think strategic posing, placement of accessories, and ruffles/oversized clothing) but I am embarking on a new chapter in my life… motherhood! Adam and I are expecting our first child at the end of November and I am so incredibly excited! (that puts me at 19 weeks if you’re trying to do the math).
Now, in case you’re wondering, this isn’t going to be the end of Catching Couture. Rather, it’s quite the opposite. I see this as a new challenge… or a temporary blog game perhaps. My goals is to hack my normal/existing wardrobe and make 80% of my non-maternity clothes work over the next five months with the addition of select, affordable, maternity bottoms (think Target, H&M, etc). Back to my “’til death do us part!” philosophy, I like to keep my clothes for a very long time, so I’m not so keen on spending $$$ on pieces that I can only wear for a few months. I’d rather spend my money on some hot outfits I can wear post-delivery when I get my normal body back!
So let’s see how this goes…
If you are also expecting, I hope my coming posts can bring you new ideas and inspiration (as well as some mutual commiseration!). And if you’re not, no worries… a lot of my outfits will be maternity-free so you can still shop the looks and get inspired.
Alright baby, let’s do this.
